Blessed New Year and Greetings in the Love of God!

Witness for Christ

What a great start for the year to be encouraged and spurred by the Word of God to shine for our Saviour, Jesus Christ, and to glorify Him through our daily lives.

Our theme for this year is “Leading a life of witness for Christ confidently” based on our theme verse in Matthew 5:16 that says, “In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”

This is where Jesus proclaimed to the hearers in verses 13 to 15 on the Mount that disciples of Christ are salt and light to the world.

During the EDC and HOM planning sessions last year we discussed and brainstormed about the essence of being a witness for Christ and we came to a common understanding that in order to share about God working in our lives we need to know and experience Him throughout the journey of our faith.

We need to know Him communally as a Church so as to deepen our relationship and walk with Him in unity of faith.

We need to experience Him personally and be strongly convicted that God is ever present in our lives, guiding us along as we put our faith in Him.

Our deeper experience of God being our Good Shepherd is where we truly allow Him to be the Lord of our lives in our decisions, our transitions and as we commit our future to His leading.

Our deeper experience of God could be garnered through serving alongside our brothers and sisters in the ministries we are committed to, especially, through ministry challenges as well as seeing the fruitfulness of the ministry.

Our deeper experience of God could be nurtured through our communal worship and fellowship.

As we gather to worship and listen to God as a Family in Christ we encourage one another, especially, those worshipping beside, in front or behind us as we sing and listen with gratitude of heart and a longing to be ministered by God.

And as we gather and fellowship with one another each Sunday, we strengthen the bond and love for one another. We get to know each other deeper and in turn we are opened to share our joy as well as our struggles.

Most blessed is to share our experiences of God in our lives, and in turn, affirm, encourage and rejoice with others on the goodness of God.

Our catchphrase for the year:

‘We are all Saints with a Story’

Our goal for the year:

  • To Share a personal testimony and Gospel with at least one person.

  • To Build a relationship with one person and a new comer to the church throughout the year.

  • To Grow in one aspect of character so as to share about God’s transformation in your life.

In this, we strive to tell our story of God to encourage one another in our faith journey, to draw other to the Saviour, and most of all, to glorify our Father in heaven.
